About Us
Two reproductive endocrinologists, a dietician and fitness instructor, and a chef with a life-long interest in cooking for health have pooled their efforts to create an EDucation Network for applying their extensive research knowledge and experience to helping couples enjoy their sexuality to the fullest.
Dave has always been physically active, but he admits to having downed quite a few steaks and lots of French fries over the years. “I remember how we thought margarine was good for you and we never hesitated to use it liberally. That fiasco (margarine contains artificial trans fats that are even worse than saturated fat- see Survival of the Firmest™) taught me that the closer you get to nature the better off you are. Meeting Claudia probably added many years to my life, and I now consider myself to be in excellent shape.” Dave also is convinced that some day we will find that the things we recommend in this site will help women preserve their natural fertility as they age. “Just the other day I saw a 45 year-old whose ovaries looked like she was 25. When we started talking about her life style, it was like she had studied our book!” Dave is also an avid photographer and took most of the photos on this site.
Joe has a masters of public health and has always been interested in factors that can have an overall impact on health. He also has had a life-long interest in education and edits a popular OB/GYN text for medical students. “There is nothing that could improve a woman’s health more than the things we are recommending in our book. And if a healthier lifestyle for her family also leads to a more fulfilling sex life who can argue with that?”
Marge has also had a life-long interest in education. She has a master’s in education and is a certified diabetes educator, a registered dietician, and a fitness and ski instructor. “I watched my dad suffer through an early heart attack and then colon cancer. I believe that both of these problems could have been prevented, or at least significantly delayed, by making healthier lifestyle choices. It’s heartbreaking to think that if he had followed the recommendations we are making in our book, I might still be enjoying his company today.”
Claudia, Dr. Meldrum’s wife, was overweight as a child and young teenager. At that point, she vowed to never be overweight again. She has spent four decades learning how to shop for the most nutritious foods and to obtain the most flavors from recipes without needlessly adding calories. “With our book we hope to reach many people who can benefit from my lifelong interest in shopping and cooking for health”.
